week in a flash (week 24)

1. Soooo…who forgot about Daylight Savings Time?  I didn’t (yaaaa) but that’s only because my phone automatically updates the time lol!

2. Still tired.

3. My computer is officially dying.  I can’t open more than one Internet window, I can do tabs but even then when I try to close the Internet browser I get the little box that says Internet Explorer has stopped working.  Windows is looking for a solution. Followed by Internet Explorer is restarting.  And if I try to ‘cancel’ the second box it just sits there with a blank webpage and a little hourglass and even starting task manager and hitting “end task” a jillion times does nothing.  Basically I have to let it restart and then I can close it because when I do that I get a little information box that informs me that something went wrong with the program and it will now close…………no?!?!?!?  Really???  Because I totally couldn’t tell!!  Also Microsoft Word has started doing funky things too, and Facebook does weird things and wordpress…what else…oh yeah I went through and cleaned out what I could from my C: drive but it randomly changes on how much space I have left going up and down, up and down, up and down.  *So I ran my antivirus and antispyware deepscans and Big Fat NOTHING, that’s right no viruses or anything else*  This sucks!

4. On that note – I moved what I could off the computer and on to a couple of thumb drives so I don’t lose anything.

5. Wi-Fi also sucks, still randomly disconnecting and having connectivity issues but I’ve noticed that it seems to stay connected longer and work better when the ‘signal strength’ is between ‘poor’ and ‘good’ but if it moves up to ‘really good’ or ‘excellent’ that’s when it really starts acting up.  Wierd.

6. Days to graduation = 26 w/o holidays and weekends

7. Days to Thanksgiving break when I can go home and see my family and my cat = 16

8. One of my plants bit the dust but my bamboo sprouted a new…stalk? branch?  I’m not sure what to call it but it is new growth which is soo cool!

9. Hey it’s my Mom’s (aka purple dragon lady) b-day today!  Hippo Birdies Mom!!!

10. Do you know what else I get to see on my Thanksgiving break?  The new Harry Potter movie!!

11. A lot on my mind…mostly that I miss writing my longer, more in-depth blog posts (because I have a few things on my mind that would work better that way but I just don’t have the time) and my stories…but I’m thinking that even when I’m out of school I’ll keep this ‘week-in-a-flash’ thing up but it’ll be more like a placeholder for a certain day than anything else……

12. The town I currently live in is so odd, it’s a college town but it pretty much closes down at around 9 or 10 pm and I mean streets empty, stores and restaurants closed even places like Perkins which is usually open 24 hours…in fact the only thing that stays the same is Wal-Mart because it’s Wal-Mart.

week in a flash (week 4)

1. I watched two awesome movies this week.  One was awesomely good (btw if you ever want to hear Kate Hudson sing, rent Nine, it rocks!) and the other was awesomely bad, I knew it would be that’s why I rented it. :D

2. Have you ever had moments when you felt wise beyond your years and then had moments where you felt extremely immature?

3. A few years back I started doing this thing where I say to myself “I love my life, I love my life, I love my life,” I started doing it because I noticed than as soon as I started focusing on how everything was going wrong it was easy to fall into a depressive, dark way of thinking where I would start saying things to myself like “I hate my life” and other such things that I won’t deign to put in print ’cause they don’t belong in my head.  I don’t say “I love my life, I love my life, I love my life” to try to erase anything that might be going wrong or anything that’s hurtful to me or to convince myself that things will get better; it’s just a way to remind myself that I’ve got a reason to live and that HE’s always with me.  Sooo…I love my life, I love my life, I love my life.

4. My bro may disown me for saying this but the Twilight saga has got some great characters…too bad they are stuck in one of the worst stories ever written.

5. With regards to a week two comment I made about people, I also want to say that people can also be amazingly compassionate and just plain nice.

6. My summer class starts in a few weeks.  I’m a little nervous.

7.Would you hate me if I said that I actually like Tim Burton’s adaptation of Alice in Wonderland and absolutely hate the book?

8. Two of the best sounds in my world at the moment – the crack of thunder, just the way it rumbles and rolls across the sky and how everything trembles and shakes when it’s really loud – in my opinion there is nothing more breathtaking, terrifying and beautiful all at the same time, love it!  And the sound Jack (my Jeep) makes when it accelerates, the raw horsepower and the strength is thrilling.  Granted Jack doesn’t corner like it’s in the Indy 500 the way Baby (my Honda) did but I love ‘im anyway.  (Yes I name my cars, get over it :D)

10. Even though you are underway right now and probably won’t see this for a few more weeks, Hippo Birdies bro!!
